What is Fractional Laser Skin Resurfacing?
As we get older, our skin’s natural process of producing collagen slows down. Coupled with photodamage to our skin, the resulting effects are skin concerns including fine lines and wrinkles, loss of skin laxity, and age spots or other blemishes. There are different ways to address these concerns, like injectables, creams, laser and surgical procedures, each having their pros and cons. Perhaps the most exciting option is Laser Skin Resurfacing. Fractional Laser Resurfacing achieves maximum skin improvement with minimal adverse events and minimal downtime, making it a desirable method to treat and diminish acne scars and stretch marks, fine lines, small wrinkles, skin blemishes, age spots and uneven skin tone.
Slate Medspa is the premier Fractional Laser Skin Resurfacing provider in NJ. We use the most advanced fractional resurfacing technology to provide a results-oriented skin rejuvenation program. How does Fractional Laser Skin Resurfacing work?
Considered the ‘next-generation’ in fractional skin resurfacing, LaseMD Ultra™ uses a unique Fiber Thulium Laser to create micro injuries deep in the skin in the form of a matrix. Healthy cells around the newly created matrix promote rapid healing while stimulating collagen production, replacing old, damaged skin with new, rejuvenated skin. Dramatically different than traditional resurfacing lasers, the Fiber Thulium Laser is fully tunable, making it is safe for most skin types, with no down time, all year round.
Immediately after treatment, the skin acts as a sponge for serums containing growth factors, nano-peptides, vitamins, antioxidants and/or pigment reducers which penetrate the skin through the laser micro channels. We recommend adding this booster to your treatment. Ask your specialist which serum is right for your concerns.
Benefits of Fractional Laser Skin Resurfacing:
- Reduces appearance of fine lines and wrinkles
- Treats sun damaged skin, age spots, freckles and Melasma
- Helps even skin tone
- Stimulates cellular renewal and collagen production
- Minimizes appearance of acne scars and stretch marks
Does Fractional Laser Skin Resurfacing Hurt?
During treatment, many feel a warm, prickly sensation as laser energy penetrates the skin. Topical anesthetic ointments may be used to reduce unpleasant feelings during treatment.
Fractional Laser Skin Resurfacing Aftercare
Since there is only mild dermal disruption during treatment, in most instances, downtime is minimal. After treatment, a mild pink or red ‘sunburn’ appearance is common. Makeup can be worn after 24 hours of the treatment. The majority of our clients see results after 3 treatments, 4 to 6 weeks apart, but collagen production can continue up to 6 months post treatment.
While each person is different, most of our guests achieve excellent results from our skin rejuvenation programs. Even so, you will continue to age as you expose yourself to the sun and other environmental elements. What you can do is come back for regular touch-ups. Our clinicians will recommend the best maintenance plan for you.
