Please arrive 15 minutes early to fill out your Intake & Consent Forms and make yourself comfortable.

Late Policy: A late arrival for your appointment affects all the appointments after you for our other clients. There’s nothing fashionable about being late, you’ll just deprive yourself of the full treatment time. IF YOU ARE MORE THAN 10 MINUTES LATE, YOUR APPOINTMENT WILL BE CANCELLED, and you may be subject to a cancellation fee of $100. Remember everyone has different outcomes but these little tips and tricks will help to ensure your outcomes are optimal

 

COOLSCULPTING

What to expect immediately after:

  • Treated area may look or feel stiff and transient blanching (temporary whitening of the skin) may occur
  • You may feel a sense of nausea or dizziness as your body naturally warms and sensation returns to your treatment area. These are normal reactions that typically resolve within minutes.
  • The treated area may be red for up to a few hours after the applicator is removed. This is an expected but temporary effect after CoolSculpting.
  • Bruising, swelling and tenderness can occur in the treated area. This typically resolves within a week or two.
  • Nausea and tingling, stinging and cramping in the treatment area are often reported on treatment day.
  • You may feel a temporary dulling of sensation in the treated area. This is normal and typically resolves within a few hours but may last for several weeks after your procedure.
  • There typically is minimal recovery time after CoolSculpting. Most patients are able to return to their daily routine immediately after the procedure.

What to expect the first few days and weeks after CoolSculpting:

  • It is common for the treated area to feel bloated and look swollen in the first few days and weeks after CoolSculpting.
  • You may experience a temporary dulling of sensation that can last for several weeks.
  • At some point within the first two weeks following the procedure, you may experience one or more of the following sensations: deep itching, tingling, numbness, tenderness to the touch, pain in the treated area, strong cramping, diarrhea, muscle spasms, aching and/or soreness. Consult your doctor if these conditions persist beyond two weeks or worsen over time.
  • Following the procedure, a gradual reduction in the thickness of the fat layer will take place. You may start to see changes as early as three weeks after CoolSculpting and you will experience the most dramatic results after one to three months. Your body will continue naturally to process the injured fat cells from your body for approximately four months after your procedure.
  • Schedule a follow-up to review your results and discuss the option of additional treatments to achieve desired fat reduction.
  • Please call us if your symptoms appear to worsen or last longer than four weeks.

Helpful Hints:

  • Daily vigorous massage in the treated area will help with the faster removal of fat cells.
  • Wearing a compression garment may help in minimizing the topical sensations in the treated area.
  • Maintaining a healthy diet & exercise routine after your procedure is important for your results.
  • Weight gain of three pounds or more will prevent you from appreciating your full results.
  • Applying Alastin TransFORM to treated areas will accelerate your body’s natural removal process of post-procedure fat debris and improve skin laxity, texture and crepiness.
  • Lipotropic injections will speed up how fast the body reduces fat. Excess fat will be burned, rather than stored, as your liver metabolism is sped up to reduce the unwanted deposits.
  • Infrared Sauna Pod sessions will help your body speed up removal of dead fat cells as well as remove toxins from your body.

 

VELASHAPE | TEMPSURE FIRM | EMTONE | RF SKIN TIGHTENING | RF CELLULITE TREATMENT

Post treatment care recommendations:

  • Mild redness and swelling may occur; it is recommended to cool the treated area immediately following treatment with cold (not frozen) packs.
  • Apply a gentle moisturizer several hours after treatment and regularly throughout the course of your treatment plan.
  • If you experience itching, you may use over the counter topical hydrocortisone cream.
  • Blistered or ulcerated skin can be treated with a prescribed antibiotic ointment or burn treatment cream.
  • If scabs appear, they should be kept soft with a lubricating ointment and left to shed off naturally. Do not use anything exfoliating.
  • Please call us if your symptoms appear to worsen or last longer than four weeks.
  • Use a high factor sunscreen (> SPF 30) and protect the treated area from sun. Tanning after treatment may cause hyperpigmentation.
  • AVOID heat, hot water or massage for 48 hours. Wash area with tepid water and mild soap, pat dry, do not rub.
  • AVOID alcohol for 72 hours after treatment
  • Following your recommended treatment plan helps to maximize our results.

 

LASER HAIR REMOVAL

Post treatment care recommendations:

  • Mild redness and swelling may occur; it is recommended to cool the treated area immediately following treatment with cold (not frozen) packs.
  • AVOID heat, hot water or massage for 48 hours. Wash area with tepid water and mild soap, pat dry, do not rub.
  • Blistered or ulcerated skin can be treated with a prescribed antibiotic ointment or burn treatment cream.
  • Do NOT use Retin-A or glycolic based products for 7 days after treatment.
  • Do NOT expose the treated area to sun if possible for the duration of treatments. Tanning after treatment may cause hyperpigmentation.
  • Use a high factor sunscreen (> SPF 30) and protect the treated area from sun. Tanning after treatment may cause hyperpigmentation.
  • If you experience itching, you may use over the counter topical hydrocortisone cream.
  • Please call us if your symptoms appear to worsen or last longer than four weeks.
  • Shaving or clipping the hair after the treatment is acceptable in between treatments.
  • Makeup may be used after the treatment, unless there is blistering.
  • Following your recommended treatment plan helps to maximize our results.

 

BOTOX:

Post treatment care recommendations:

  • Stay in a vertical position for four (4) hours following injection. DO NOT “rest your head” or lie down.
  • You may apply an ice or cold gel pack to the area(s) treated (AVOID putting pressure) as this helps reduce swelling and the potential for bruising. Once any pinpoint bleeding from the injection site(s) has subsided, you may begin wearing makeup.
  • AVOID placing excessive pressure on the treated area(s) for the first few days; when cleansing your face or applying makeup, be very gentle.
  • AVOID exercise or strenuous activities for the remainder of the treatment day; you may resume other normal activities/routines immediately.
  • AVOID alcohol for 24 hours after treatment
  • Use a high factor sunscreen (> SPF 30) and protect the treated area from sun. Tanning after treatment may cause hyperpigmentation.
  • Wait a minimum of two weeks before receiving any skin care or laser treatments.
  • The effects of BOTOX® can take up to two (2) weeks to show.
  • You may experience a mild amount of tenderness or a stinging sensation following injection.
  • Redness and swelling are normal. You may have some residual bruising around the treated areas. It can take about a week to subside.
  • You may experience some tenderness at the treatment sites that can last for a few hours to a few days.
  • You may take Acetaminophen/Tylenol if you experience any mild tenderness or discomfort.
  • Please call us if your symptoms appear to worsen or last longer than four weeks.
  • Following your recommended treatment plan helps to maximize our results.

 

FILLERS:

After the injection, some common injection-related reactions might occur. These reactions include erythema, swelling, bruising, pain, itching or tenderness at the implant site. Typically, resolution is spontaneous 24-48 hours after injection in the skin, and 2-7 days after injection in the lips. Additionally, temporary palpable lumpiness and a light blue/grey color within the skin has been noted after use in some patients. There is a potential risk with any injectable that the material could be inadvertently injected into the dermal blood vessels, which could lead to vascular occlusion in the end-artery with corresponding consequences (necrosis, blindness). Lastly, there is the remote risk of allergic reaction causing prolonged raised red lumpiness, itchiness and possible abscess.

 Post treatment care recommendations:

  • After treatment, your skin may appear slightly reddened which subsides rather quickly. Mild swelling may occur. Discomfort comparable to a mild sunburn is common. It is recommended to cool the treated area immediately following treatment with cold (not frozen) packs.
  • Trans Epidermal Water Loss is a common temporary side effect and could leave you feeling dry. Keep the recommended moisturizer with you during the day and apply as frequently as necessary to AVOID a dry sensation.
  • If you experience itching, you may use over the counter topical hydrocortisone cream.
  • Beginning the following morning; apply the recommended at home post care products.
  • (For hair restoration): Beginning the following morning; apply the Procell Hair Serum to enhance results. Apply morning and evening.
  • Peeling and skin sloughing may occur for several days after treatment.
  • NEVER pick or scratch the treated skin. This WILL cause damage and compromise your results as well as possibly cause scarring
  • If any crusting, apply antibiotic cream, aloe vera gel or sunburn treatment such as Desitin. Darker pigmented people may have more discomfort than lighter skin people. Follow instructions as specified by your aesthetic professional.
  • If scabs appear, they should be kept soft with a lubricating ointment and left to shed off naturally. Do not use anything exfoliating.
  • AVOID sun exposure as much as possible. Use a high factor sunscreen (> SPF 30) and protect the treated area from sunlight for at least one month after the treatment. Tanning after treatment may cause hyperpigmentation.
  • AVOID heat, hot water or massage for 48 hours. Wash area with tepid water and mild soap, pat dry, do not rub.
  • Mineral makeup may be used on the treated area after 90 minutes, as long as the skin is not broken, blistered, or irritated.
  • Do NOT use any type of glycolic acid, exfoliation products, chemical hair services, tweezing, waxing, use hair removal products, lighteners, Accutane®, AHA, topical vitamin A, including Retin A®, Differin®, tretinoin, retinol, Benzoyl Peroxide, astringents or glycolics for at least 7 days as this can severely damage or irritate the skin during the entire healing process.
  • After treatment, nothing topical should be applied for at least 90 minutes.
  • AVOID laser services for 30 days.
  • Please call us if your symptoms appear to worsen or last longer than four weeks.
  • Following your recommended treatment plan helps to maximize our results.

 

VIVACE FRACTIONAL RF MICRONEEDLING

Post treatment care recommendations:

  • After treatment, your skin may appear slightly reddened which subsides rather quickly. Mild swelling may occur. Discomfort comparable to a mild sunburn is common. It is recommended to cool the treated area immediately following treatment with cold (not frozen) packs.
  • Trans Epidermal Water Loss is a common temporary side effect and could leave you feeling dry. Keep the recommended moisturizer with you during the day and apply as frequently as necessary to AVOID a dry sensation.
  • Do not apply anything to the skin or touch the skin with your hands for 4 hours post treatment.
  • Continue to hydrate by drinking at least 8 glasses of water a day for the next 7 days.

  • (For hair restoration): Beginning the following morning; apply the Procell Hair Serum to enhance results. Apply morning and evening.

  • After treatment, nothing topical should be applied for at least 4 hours.
  • AVOID laser services for 30 days.

HYDRAFACIAL

Post treatment care recommendations:

  • You may resume normal skin care regimen 2 days after treatment. If skin still feels irritated, test spot your skin care products first.
  • Do NOT use any type of glycolic acid, exfoliation products, chemical hair services, tweezing, waxing, use hair removal products, lighteners, Accutane®, AHA, topical vitamin A, including Retin A®, Differin®, tretinoin, retinol, Benzoyl Peroxide, astringents or glycolics for at least 2 days afterwards.
  • AVOID unprotected sun exposure and/or tanning beds for at least 2 days post treatment.
  • AVOID sun exposure as much as possible. Use a high factor sunscreen (> SPF 30) and protect the treated area from sunlight for at least one week after the treatment. Tanning after treatment may cause hyperpigmentation.
  • Make-up may be applied post treatment.
  • Following your recommended treatment plan helps to maximize our results.

 

PHOTOFACIAL

Post treatment care recommendations:

  • Treated pigment may turn darker (brown to black) within 24-48 hours
  • Do not pick at treated areas!!!
  • Treated pigment will exfoliate off the face in approximately 1 week
  • Treated pigment will exfoliate off the body in approximately 2-3 weeks
  • AVOID heat – hot tubs, saunas, etc. for 1-2 days
  • Do NOT use any type of glycolic acid, exfoliation products, chemical hair services, tweezing, waxing, use hair removal products, lighteners, Accutane®, AHA, topical vitamin A, including Retin A®, Differin®, tretinoin, retinol, Benzoyl Peroxide, astringents or glycolics for at least 2 days afterwards.
  • AVOID unprotected sun exposure and/or tanning beds for at least 7 days as this can severely damage or irritate the skin during the entire healing process.
  • AVOID sun exposure as much as possible. Use a high factor sunscreen (> SPF 30) and protect the treated area from sunlight for at least one week after the treatment. Tanning after treatment may cause hyperpigmentation.

VI PEEL | CHEMICAL PEEL

Post treatment care recommendations:

  • Stay cool! Heating internally or externally can cause hyperpigmentation.
  • Do not put treated area directly into a hot shower spray.
  • Do not use hot tubs, steam rooms or saunas.
  • Do not go swimming.
  • Do not participate in activities that would cause excessive sweating.
  • Do not use loofahs or other means of exfoliation.
  • Do not direct a hair dryer onto the treated area.
  • Do not apply ice or ice water to the treated area.
  • Treated skin may look and feel like a mild windburn for the next 2 or 3 days. After 48 hours, a slight flaking may occur for 3 to 5 days which can easily be controlled with moisturizers.
  • It is recommended that makeup not be applied the day of treatment, as it is ideal to allow the skin to stabilize and rest overnight.
  • To minimize side effects and maximize results, use the recommended post procedure products.
  • Moisturizer should be applied at least twice a day but can be applied more frequently for hydration and to decrease the appearance of flaking.
  • AVOID sun exposure as much as possible. Use a high factor sunscreen (> SPF 30) and protect the treated area from sunlight for at least one week after the treatment. Tanning after treatment may cause hyperpigmentation.
  • Do not pick or pull on any loosening skin. This could potentially cause hyperpigmentation.
  • Do not have any other facial treatment for at least one week after your peel. You may resume the regular use of retinoids, alpha-hydroxy acid, beta hydroxy acid, vitamin c or bleaching creams ONLY after peeling process is complete.
  • Please call us if your symptoms appear to worsen or last longer than two weeks.
  • Following your recommended treatment plan helps to maximize our results.

 

LASE MD | COOL PEEL | LASER RESURFACING | CARBON PEEL | GENESIS LASER

Post treatment care recommendations:

  • Stay cool! Heating internally or externally can cause hyperpigmentation.
  • After treatment, your skin may appear slightly reddened which subsides rather quickly. Mild swelling may occur in the event of post-treatment discomfort; it is recommended to cool the treated area immediately following treatment with cold (not frozen) packs.

  • For Acne Treatment: Return to normal acne skin regimen 2 days after treatment if there are potentially harsh or irritant topical agents in the program. Otherwise, gentle washer and non-irritant topical agents may be used without interruption.
  • Do not Use Retin-A or glycolics for 7 days after treatment

 

TEMPSURE ENVI | RF FACIAL TIGHTENING

Post treatment care recommendations:

  • Stay cool! Heating internally or externally can cause hyperpigmentation.
  • After treatment, your skin may appear slightly reddened which subsides rather quickly. Mild swelling may occur in the event of post-treatment discomfort; it is recommended to cool the treated area immediately following treatment with cold (not frozen) packs.

EMSCULPT

Post treatment care recommendations:

  • Some of our clients experience workout soreness the next couple of days, but because Emsculpt also breaks down lactic acid, the soreness is minimal.
  • Most of our clients begin to see their Emsculpt results within 3 to 6 weeks after their first treatment, and see the full results at about three months.
  • As with any type of muscle improvement, maintenance is required to maintain results. The results from your initial series of treatments will last 6 months or more. We recommend two maintenance treatments every 3-6 months.

Helpful Hints:

  • A successful treatment outcome can be affected by smoking or excessive alcohol consumption, as well as: eating disorders or on-going medication. While no special diet is required, you are encouraged to eat healthy to help promote and maintain results.
  • Weight gain of three pounds or more will prevent you from appreciating your full results.
  • Maintaining a healthy diet & exercise routine after your procedure is important for your results.
  • Following your recommended treatment plan helps to maximize our results.

SAUNA POD SWEAT SESSION

Post treatment care recommendations:

  • Drink plenty of water before and after your sauna pod session.
  • Immediately after your session you may feel like you just finished a workout, however 30 minutes later you will feel refreshed and rested. You may feel a boost in your energy and mood. Oh and get ready to sleep like a baby that evening! Keep in mind-just like a workout some sweats will feel better than others.
  • Be sure to stay hydrated.
  • We recommend not showering after your session to allow your pores to stay open and continue flushing toxins. If you must, take a quick, hot shower, though we recommend waiting at least 30 minutes before showering and putting on any lotions, liquids, creams, etc. until your pores close.

At Slate, we pride ourselves on offering the best care for our clients. Please make yourself aware of our practice policies and procedures described below. Our policies have been designed to ensure you enjoy a truly peaceful and relaxing visit with us.

CONSULTATION  Slate is dedicated to helping you achieve your aesthetic goals. We offer complimentary consultations to better understand your needs. Based on a private analysis and conversation, we partner with you to design a treatment plan that will best meet your expectations.

SCHEDULING  Please call ahead and we will schedule you for a consultation or treatment. For your convenience, we recommend scheduling your next treatment before leaving our facility. Due to the customized nature of many of our treatments, appointments can sometimes exceed their scheduled time. Please be patient and know that you will also receive the same exceptional service and personal attention.

CANCELLATION POLICY  A scheduled appointment at Slate reserves the time of our professionals. Out of respect for our staff’s time, we do require a credit card to secure all appointments. Cancellations are accepted up to 24 hours prior to your appointment without incurring a charge. Cancellations with less than 24 hours or no-shows require a $100 service fee which will be charged to your credit card. Thank you for your consideration.

ARRIVAL  Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your appointment, so you’ll have plenty of time to unwind, and give us the 411 on what’s new in your life (aka paperwork). As we are a medical spa, we require that all new clients fill out medical/skincare history and treatment consent forms. Paperwork and consent forms must be updated annually. There’s nothing fashionable about being late, you’ll just deprive yourself of the full treatment time.

PHOTOGRAPHY  Treatments include pre and post treatment photography. All photographs are private and covered by HIPPA laws. Post treatment and all follow-up visits do include photography.

PAYMENT  We accept cash, Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, Care Credit & Financing Options.  All treatments/products must be paid for at or prior to the time of treatment/purchase. There are no discounts when using Care Credit or Financing. We accept personal checks as a form of payment for treatments only, at least 5 days prior to treatment appointment, however, if a check is returned for insufficient funds, a fee of $30 will be added to the amount due.

RETURN POLICY – Medspa ServicesThere are no refunds for the services performed by the staff of Slate, however, remaining treatments can be used as credit towards any service at Slate. There are risks and possible complications for every treatment procedure. Every individual is unique. Results may vary. Although the vast majority of patients achieve desired results, there is no guarantee of results for any treatment. | Retail ProductsRetail Products are eligible for a refund if you have had an adverse skin reaction. Returned items are subject to inspection by Slate staff. All original product packaging and its contents must be returned within 7 days. Returned products may not be altered, over 10% used or damaged. We reserve the right to deny multiple refunds on products purchased and product types returned more than once. Gift certificates are not refundable or transferrable.

FOR YOUR ENJOYMENT  For their safety, and for the courtesy of other guests receiving relaxing services, children under 13 years of age are not permitted. Please put cell phones on silent. This is your time to relax and be in the moment. Inform our front desk staff if you have any special needs or concerns to allow us to ensure your time spent with us is a memorable experience.

VALUABLES  We are not responsible for lost or stolen items and encourage you to leave valuables at home.

We wouldn’t be the trendsetters that we are if we weren’t constantly expanding our services. Although Slate makes every effort to keep its advertising material updated, please note that prices and services are subject to change at any time. We love having you as a client, but we reserve the right to refuse service at any time, to anyone, for any reason.
