What is a Photofacial?
A Photofacial is a FDA cleared, non-invasive skincare treatment that utilizes laser technology to treat sun damage, age spots, freckles, melasma, pigmented lesions, uneven skin tone and hyperpigmentation. Using the latest technology, our lasers precisely target blemishes below the surface of the skin. One of the most popular non-invasive cosmetic treatments in the US, it is perfect for both men and women who want to rejuvenate their skin, allowing you to look younger, brighter and revitalized. Only Slate Medspa offers the latest laser technology which allows for safe treatment of all skin tones, even in the summer months.
Slate Medspa is the premier Photofacial provider in NJ. We use the most advanced technology to provide a results-oriented skin rejuvenation program. New to Slate Medspa? Call us today at 877-588-4646 to schedule a free consultation and save 20% off your first treatment.
How does a Slate Medspa Photofacial work?
Unlike most providers who use outdated IPL technology, Slate Medspa uses the latest Fiber Thulium and Pico Lasers, assuring safe treatments for all skin types. This latest technology allows for year round Photofacial treatments, not just for the winter. The treatment produces ultra short bursts of high energy laser light that penetrate below the surface of the skin. The Photofacial lightens and gradually fades sun spots, freckles, age spots, broken capillaries and more, diminishing the signs of aging.

Photofacial Before & After
What to expect from your Slate Photofacial
After you skin is analyzed, our trained clinicians will then gently glide a specially designed handpiece over the treatment area. Patients describe the treatment as a warm tingling sensation. Treatments can be used on different areas of the body. The most common areas of treatment are zones that are regularly exposed to the sun. These often include the face, neck, décolleté, hands and arms. Depending on the area treated and your specific skin type and condition, each Photofacial only takes between 15 and 30 minutes.
Immediately following a Photofacial treatment, you will be free to resume your daily activities. A brief period of redness is the most common side effect of the treatment. This can easily be covered up with foundation or concealer until the redness subsides, usually within a day or two. Your skin will have a dry, sanpapaer-like texture in the following 5-6 days. The treated spots may begin to darken and this typically subsides within a day or two. Over the course of the next one to three weeks, the darkened spots will fade away, revealing fresher, clearer skin. Results are cumulative and desired improvement of skin tone is typically achieved in 3 to 6 treatment sessions.
While each person is different, most of our guests achieve excellent results from our skin rejuvenation programs. Even so, you will continue to age as you expose yourself to the sun and other environmental elements. What you can do is come back for regular touch-ups. Our clinicians will recommend the best maintenance plan for you.
OUR IN OFFICE TREATMENTS SHOULD ALWAYS BE COMPLIMENTED BY A CUSTOM HOMECARE REGIMEN. YOU MUST DO YOUR PART AND KEEP UP WITH OUR RECOMMENDED SKIN CARE PLAN.
