I Got My First Vivace RF Microneedling Treatment and Here is Why I Love It

VIVACE | Kat | bykatiness.com |

New Year, New Me! After 9 months of pregnancy and then another couple of months of breastfeeding, this new mama was finally ready to take care of her vastly neglected skin. During pregnancy and nursing, I greatly simplified my skincare routine (I used only gentle ingredients and products) as I was focusing on growing a healthy baby and I did not want to put anything powerful or potent on my skin (not to mention that all invasive skincare treatments are a big no during pregnancy). And since it’s been almost 2 years since I did anything major on my face, it’s fair to say I haven’t been this excited in quite a while about getting a new skin rejuvenating treatment called Vivace RF Microneedling. I went to Slate Medspa in Paramus, NJ and I couldn’t be happier with the service and my results.

Vivace RF Microneedling combines the benefits of traditional microneedling with the power of radiofrequency energy. This FDA-approved device uses ultrafine gold-tipped needles to penetrate the skin and deliver radiofrequency (heat) energy to deeper layers of the skin in order to promote production of new collagen, remodel elastin and create wound contraction, which all enhance skin laxity and tighten the skin.

Here are just a few reasons why I love this treatment and why I think you’ll love it too!

Quick Results

For optimal results, most doctors recommend a course of three to four treatments, usually spaced four weeks apart, but I honestly saw a visible improvement after just one session. After just 2 weeks, my skin appeared smoother and plumper so there was a considerable improvement in skin texture and tone. I also noticed a more radiant look to my skin. I’m super excited to continue observing the results as the production of new collagen can take up to 6 months.

Little Downtime

The Vivace system was designed to be minimally-invasive while providing an effective treatment. The results are comparable to other skin tightening and resurfacing treatments such as Fraxel laser but without much downtime. Following the treatment, my skin was slightly red and there were a bunch of red spots on my skin but after 48 hours (you can do it even after 24 hours) I was able to apply makeup and cover them all.

Its Efficacy Extends Beyond the Face

In addition to treating a variety of skin concerns, including uneven skin texture, enlarged pores, acne or aging, the Vivace treatment is safe and effective on other areas of the body, including the delicate skin of the neck. I’m a big proponent of taking good care of the neck as this is the area that shows the signs of aging even faster than face. That’s why I specifically asked to expand the treatment to the neck area.

What I particularly liked about my experience at Slate Medspa was that the esthetician who performed the treatment was very thorough and goal-oriented. The treatment can get pretty intense at times, even with numbing, but I appreciated the fact that she pushed me to my limits and really wanted to perform the treatment at its full potential. After all, no pain, no gain. I will definitely be back for more.
